Goetten's SIERRA MOTEL

The good features: Very comfortable bed, quiet location of my room, nice to have microwave and minifridge, wifi worked well.|The not so good: the carpet was terribly stained; of the row of vanity lights above the bathroom sink, 5 of the 6 were either burned out or empty/open sockets so only one light and I could barely see to put in my contacts; no tissues provided, no ice available, and worst of all, non-existent housekeeping. I had to call at 4 pm for someone to please come refresh my room. The very nice lady seemed to have never worked or even stayed in a motel before and looked puzzled that I expected my bed to be made up, trash emptied, etc. Poor service due to complete lack of training, it seemed. I wouldn't stay there again except it's close to my family that I went to visit.

If I could make one small suggestion: offer coffee in the mornings; either by a breakfast bar or coffee makers in the rooms. That being said, a solid 4 stars! Motel is off the main hwy and very easily found. Single rooms are quaint, clean and quiet. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely recommend Goetten's Sierra Motel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced place to rest your head for the night.

It was just great. Motels in small towns get bad reputations, but this really fits the bill. The room was large and extremely clean. It had a mini-fridge that we used to hold dishes we had prepared for a Thanksgiving dinner well. We didn't use the microwave.|The beds were very comfortable, and the pillows were nice. The heating/AC combo kept the room at the temperature we wanted.|There was lots of hot water for showers. A very nice and pleasant lady cleaned the room perfectly, every day.|The bathroom was spacious and had room for all our bathroom stuff. And one of my personal checks -- the toilet paper was of good quality. I find that is one thing even some pretty upscale motels skimp on.|Plenty of outlets for all of our electrical needs. My husband and I have stayed at this motel many times. He is originally from the area so when we go back to visit we always stay here. When we got married last year we were able to rent out 10 rooms and all of our guests enjoyed their stay as well. The rooms are always clean and the owners are very friendly. We've stayed in the rooms with a kitchenette and they are very nice for when you stay for 3 or 4 days and have the luxury of using a full size fridge. The bathrooms are very large and the beds are very comfortable. ||I definitely recommend this nice quiet motel for anyone just staying the night, passing through town or for someone staying for a week.

I am 76 and would have appreciated a handicapped room with pull bars in the bathroom. I was told there were no handicapped rooms. There was only one chair in the room so one of us was forced to sit on the bed. But the room was Very clean, large, water pressure good, wait a while and the hot water does eventually get hot. Nice kitchen area, but no individual coffee packets and no plates, silverware, not even plastic. The bed was comfortable, one of the beds had a nice warm fleece blanket but the other had a small rough blanket that didn’t cover both of us. Some better type of sun blocking window covering would be helpful as well. ||I would stay there again if there were the above changes made. Suzanne W.
