Gilson Pond Campground

Nice state park with a few sites that can accommodate Class B vans (~25 ft), and 4 sites with 30 Amp power (Sites A5, A6, A8, A9); however, the majority of the sites are for tent camping. The 2 best RV sites with power (A6 and A8) are right across from the camp store (sells fire wood, camp supplies, etc.) which is where the showers and bathrooms are located. Unfortunately, the campground does not have an RV dump station, but the Town of Jaffrey does (about 8 miles away).

Great camp ground. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Sites are welcome maintained. Bathrooms are very clean and the showers are cleaned daily. Great place to take your family for a small getaway weekend. Camp and hike Mt Monadnock. This definitely a must for those who want to be able to get up early and tackle that hike. Camp store is well stocked with various camp needs. If you need dinner items best make sure you pack those as they are not able to sell perishables.

Although ice was not available. - Birchtoft hiking trail (3.5 miles) to Mt Monadnock starts from here - Main Mt Monadnock headquarters where other trails start is couple of minutes drive from here - There was a nice Night Watchers event on Saturday night where they gave information on bats 🦇 - Pond loop trail is a nice and small flat trail which goes around the Gilson pond. Nice view of Mt Monadnock from the pond

Nice campground close to the trailhead to Mt. Monadnock. Firewood sold at the rangers station $6.50 for around 8 pieces.

You may stay overnight at the campground. You may park your car at the day parking lot and hike to the summit.
