Gavin's Resort & Country Inn

My family attended this past weekend's "Guinness Oktoberfest" and had a fabulous time. It was run flawlessly with no breaks in music, flowing beer taps, and made-to-order food. A lovely crowd as well. This was our first time to Gavin's and we were taken aback at the welcoming nature of the resort. We will definitely be returning for more Gavin events!

About 20 years ago I heard about a Red Hat mini convention at Gavin’s Resort. I, along with 10 or 11 girlfriends from our Red Hat group attended. We had a GREAT time. This continued for many years until no one offered to organize the Red Hat getaway. My friends & I were undeterred! We continue to go to Gavin’s as a girlfriend getaway & truly look forward to our annual summer retreat. We relax, swim, chat, have a beverage or 2, dance at the Pub, eat delicious meals in the dining room & just enjoy spending time together at this scenic & calming resort. We will continue this tradition for many years to come.|This past Labor Day Weekend, my husband & I were free to go to Gavin’s. He had never stayed there before & he absolutely loved it! Overall, Gavn's Irish Country in is the perfect mix of comfort, hospitality, and fun. Highly recommended! Great spot for families - plenty of space for children to play and enjoy the outdoors. The little pub on-site adds a nice touch, offering a friendly atmosphere to relax and unwind.|The owners, Bernadette and Brian, are incredibly accommodating and make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Our family has been coming to Gavin’s every year since 1988. There really is something for everyone: the quiet country setting, the heated pool, the pub with live music on site, the walking trails to the waterfalls and so much more. |It is the highlight of the year for so many of us, and the setting at Gavin’s is the perfect location for a family reunion.

This location is so run-down it’s almost uninhabitable. I’m surprised it passes occupancy inspections. The owners are trying unsuccessfully to sell it, and the lack of spending money on basic maintenance really shows. They recently sold a restaurant in town in order to keep the resort afloat. The grounds are adequate. Nice pool (no lifeguard). Very mediocre playground. A nice short walking trail to several small waterfalls. A very old and dark and nearly empty independent pub at night with absolutely terrible Irish singers and music. That’s about it for things to do. Food is homestyle - basic - edible but nothing special. Breakfasts were OK with a buffet of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, breads, pancakes, and pastry - edible but nothing better than you would get at a cheap roads
