If you’ve ever wanted to feel like the main character in a nature documentary… this is your spot. We stayed at Gator Head Campground for a fun night with friends and it absolutely delivered. The campsite was super clean — like “did someone vacuum the forest?” clean. We somehow lucked out and had the entire place to ourselves, which made it feel like we rented out the wilderness for a private event. VIP section: Nature Edition. The brand new fire pits with grill tops were a game changer. We cooked hot dogs like seasoned survivalists (by that I mean slightly overcooked but still delicious). The controlled campfire setup made it easy to relax without worrying about turning into a viral “wildfire fail” video. We also did a few small hikes nearby to look for critters.
