Gateway Inn

The room was clean and perfect for what we needed. Service was great. I left my Apple Watch and they promptly figured out how to return it to me. Great communication. Location was excellent for our outing to Jones Beach theater. Easy Uber ride there and back and not too crazy of a ride to the airport either.

Place is a bug-infested dump. Within 5 minutes of checking in, found multiple bugs crawling on the floor and the night stand. Bedding had yellow stains on it and bathroom was moldy and run down. Checked out and demanded a full refund a few minutes later. The front desk issued a refund but insisted I sign a receipt showing I had a balance of $123. I crossed out the balance and wrote $0.00 so he printed out another copy. He finally let it go when I started raising my voice. You couldn't pay me to stay at this trash with a hazmat suit. Run!!

Positive: "" Negative: It was old. It was falling apart. The pillowcase has stain. The sheet had a stain. The bathroom door didn’t close and there was no key to the door so if I walked out, I’d be locked out.

No elevator to higher floors. Room was so disgusting I turned in the room key and left within an hour. It looked like the linens were changed but nothing else was cleaned. Scuff marks all over the walls, paint chipping, seats covered in crumbs, seats with arms rests ripped off. Don't forget the bathroom! It looked so gross I refused to even go in. Got an overpriced AirBnb in the area instead, but it was worth it compared to this cesspit of a room.

The hotel was dirty. They made us pay an extra $130 for checking in an hour and a half early. We called down and asked for sheets, blankets and towels. They refused to send up the clean linens. The heater in the room did not work. At one point the heater in the room dropped down to 27 degrees. We had to put the heater on 90 to keep the heat at 60 in the room.
