Gaston's White River Resort

Stayed for first time in November. Room I selected was no-frills but very clean and all that I needed as well as a very good price. Limited contact with staff but all were very professional and helpful. Restaurant was delicious. Location on the river was perfect for my needs. Gaston's will be my go-to resort when fishing the White River.

I have been coming here since I was a child in 1980. Love the cottages (that some critique for being stuck in the 70s) with their fireplaces and riverfront views. The great restaurant on site, where you can eat the trout for dinner you caught that morning with your excellent fishing guide while you watch hummingbirds visit the giant feeders overlooking the river and a gajillion bicycles hang overhead…the salad bar in a boat with the best bleu cheese dressing… the arcade room the kids can escape to after dinner… enjoying the pool and weird little zoo and walking trails and park…bringing the family dog…fishing off the bank…enjoying the cozy bar as an adult…watching the single engine prop planes as they approach and land on the grass airstrip parallel to the river right across from the cott

Can’t say enough nice things about this fantastic resort and the wonderful people that worked there had a fantastic time. Highly recommend Doug as a guide, my buddy and our first time there both of us left with the biggest trout we’ve ever caught in our life. Had a great time definitely will be coming back thanks to everybody there

We stayed at The River Villa cabin and it was very disappointing. Our room was on the second floor, there no connection with the common area, although the price is the same for the connected rooms. The room was smelling terrible on the first day, musty and humid. The bedding looks old, the bathroom was super small, no hooks to hang any towels. The room view was pretty. The restaurant has a beautiful view. Prices are very high and food is okay. The service was great.

My son and I like to have lunch at a nice cafe or restaurant on our occasional afternoon drives. Today we picked Gaston’s since we were thinking trout for lunch. We actually decided to just have a sandwich since we weren’t real hungry. I never complain or care about the price of food if it’s good. On the other hand it’s very disappointing to pay a high price when the food is just not good. My French dip was a very good size sandwich but there was no flavor in the meat or the au jus. My son’s Reuben looked like it melted on the plate. Bottom was wet causing the whole thing to fall apart and difficult to eat. Guess we should have ordered the trout!!! This place is way to pricey to serve tasteless food!!!!
