Garnet Hill Lodge

My husband and I recently enjoyed the most wonderful getaway at Garnet Lodge, a quaint country lodge nestled in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. It was exactly the peaceful winter escape we were hoping for. The lodge was incredibly accommodating, and the ski and snowshoe trails were excellent, beautifully maintained and perfect for taking in the serene surroundings. The vistas were absolutely magnificent, especially from the summit of Balm of Gilead Mountain. The views alone made the trip unforgettable. The rooms are rustic yet very comfortable, adding to the authentic mountain lodge charm. A small note for future guests: rooms located above the fireplace/kitchen area can get quite warm, so you may want to crack a window to cool things down. Most of all, the staff truly made our s

We were there for a reception and our experience was fantastic! The room was beautiful and clean and the sauna was a great treat after a wonderful hike up to the garnet mine. ||The food was amazing and the staff were friendly and helpful. Jasmine the bartender made the best drinks! The setting is picturesque and we had the best weather for pictures on Saturday and on Sunday we woke up to snow! We just returned home from a three-day visit at Garnet Hill Lodge. We had been anticipating this visit for years and were happy to finally visit. The weather this winter has been spectacular (cold and snowy) - clearly not under the control of Garnet Hill, but wonderful timing nonetheless. We visited as a couple during a busy week when the Sierra Club was occupying most of the hotel/restaurant. Our visit was nothing short of outstanding. The lodge itself centers on a (real!) fireplace which the staff keeps constantly burning - with plenty of seating for your to gaze, enjoy a book, or to gab with friends over a drink from the bar. The service from the team at the lodge and the restaurant were just wonderful. Not only was their service great, but it was great when they were quite busy

My husband Michael and I landed here accidentally last year planning a downhill ski trip to Gore Mountain. (30 minute drive) We wanted someplace to hang out at the end of a ski day without having to drive all over searching for restaurants, maybe play scrabble, read, chill in front of a huge fireplace. Garnet Hill Lodge was all of that and beyond. We had the pleasure of talking with random diverse people of all ages and places. The scenery is spectacular, sunk in a rolling mountain range, beyond a lake, so peacful. This is our second trip here in Winter. On site, they have cross=country ski trails and snow shoeing. Decided to try a new ski area for February break with the family and this place did not disappoint. You walk into their lobby/restaurant and it smells of a freshly lit fire place and depending on the time of day you will also get freshly cooked breakfast and coffee in the morning or a delicious dinner being made. Truly something out of a Hallmark movie. Located only 20 minutes away from Gore Mountain, which was where we spent most of our time, but the hotel also offered their own cross country skiing and snow shoeing.
