Located along Mt. Frosty Trail approximately six kilometers from Lighting Lake. This campsite is mostly used by hikers coming from Mt Frosty Peak to rest for a night to relieve themselves of hiking fatigue. Tent wooden boards are durable and wide. There's also a warming hut for winter hiking, and a pit toilet
We came soon after the snow had melted away. There was a lot of tree fall and many mosquitoes, but around 4 or 5 reasonably flat spots for tents (if tents are 2-3 person size). Otherwise it is too sloped and/or big tree roots. The small stream is easily accessible and it is only a small walk from camp to the larch meadow. Popular trail so arrive very early if you intend to camp
Love Manning Park and Frosty trail. The back country campsite is decent with a water source.
