Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort

We stayed at 727 Seahorse Rd over Labor Day weekend, booked through Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort. This was our 6th annual trip to Fripp Island. This was the most expensive place we have ever stayed, and it was terrible. I have a 3 month old infant and a 3 year old, so I tried to log/ photograph what I could. I don't have pictures of everything. This property had several major concerns and was not safe for children. - No deadbolts on any door to the exterior, kids could just walk out. - Very loose stairway banister - A leak from the ceiling in the upstairs kid's room - Marshy/ sitting water for about 40 yards on the boardwalks that kept us from using the beach. Lots of fun even though it rained for half of our stay (early October). Lots of nature to explore and wildlife to experience. I would recommend going through VRBO for booking rather than the local company though. I had to call and ask for info about the house we rented and even then, the communication wasn't great. However, the place itself was amazing!

Motel style, very outdated. We arrived and had no codes to enter our rooms. We had to drive back up to Al (the only good part about our experience was talking to him) and have him wake up the property manager to look up our codes. We get into the room and it hadn’t been cleaned, dirty towels and mud everywhere. We had no working contact information for anyone so once again, we had to go back to Al…. If we weren’t so exhausted by the time we finally got into a decent room, we would have just left. I rarely even leave reviews as a business owner myself because I know the magnitude of a bad review, but this one had to be left.

Terrible management. Within 3 hours of being in my room, saw 2 cockroaches. Emailed and texted. After seeing the 2nd one i left immediately, emailed and texted again and requested refund. Heard back from someone the next day 24 hours later, saying the would give me another room. After I was already back home 5 hours away. Claimed seeing roaches is “normal around here”… not normal to see them in guest rooms… ever. Said they would refund me one night out of my 5 booked. Requested the higher ups information, never responded.

Have been coming here all my life and love Fripp. Many changes have occurred over the last few years and looking forward to a bright future.
