One of my favorite state/federal campgrounds to go to. I have been going since a child 30 years ago. Not that far from civilization yet feels secluded. Tons of gorgeous hiking trails for all seasons. Sites right on the lake are incredible and the environment in the area is just so beautiful. The lake is clear and sandy perfect for swimming. The lake is scenic and remote. The fishing isn't the best as the walleye population has declined over the past few decades. But a new conservation nonprofit organization is pursuing creation of a walleye spawning reef and heavily stocking the lake to allow the population to rebound. They're also working towards making panfish more abundant so kids can have fun in the outdoors like I did and how I made a connection with this great campground/area. Check
