Fountain Motel

I was in the area for one night for competition I was participating in. I wanted an inexpensive motel where I could park right outside my door. When I pulled up the roof was in such poor condition, it had patches and missing shingle tabs all over. I used to be in the residential roofing business and this roof was many years overdue for a new roof. I was okay with that as long as there wasn't an active leak into the room. I walked into the office and asked for the price. It was about five dollars less than a room at a more modern room closer to my competition.

I've been curious about this place for years, and had a chance to try it out on my way south for a road trip. It's a fairly large one story building from the early '60s, in the classic roadside motel style. The outside is presentable (although the neon sign badly needs work), and the lady in the office was friendly. The rate was about $50.|| The rooms were a bit of a letdown. The entire interior looks original, and while the retro dresser and hanging lamp were a neat throwback, the red shag rug was very dirty and worn. The bed was clean, but the sheets were pretty old. The pillows looked new-ish, and had plenty of 'fluff' left in them. The rooms also need to be repainted, or at least have the grungy spots scrubbed off the walls. I have known these good people and this establishment for more than half my life. Su is like a second mom to me. I have stayed here more times than I can count. It’s my home in between homes . In fact I’m at The Fountain right now! Every time I walk into any room it’s always so clean and smells so good! It’s quaint cozy and quiet here. Yeah I know it kinda sucks not having a mini fridge and a microwave but I have been told that will soon to be added to the cozy nice sized rooms! This little couple that owns the place are like family to me! They’re good noble kind and considerate people that I have a great deal of respect for! And if Miss Su ever reads this review herself I just want to say I love you mom! ❤️🪷

Plain nasty dump of a hole. EVERYTHING STUNK. NO MICROWAVE NO FRIDGE. Over priced Never ever again. I'd rather sleep in my car

This motel sits off of 29 in Rustburg. It does have a vintage style and the beds are comfortable. The room that I stayed in was very clean. I have stayed here several times and will continue to do so. I have spoke with her several times yesterday and she is the sweetest person that I have ever met. Hope to see you guys again soon! I WISH that you guys allowed pets, I have a 4lb dog that I would love to bring with me.
