Awesome place to come a see volcanic rocks and Fossils, do brings lots of water , Sunblock, and a Canopy, recommend to come when the temperature is below 80f. ….. but once here you feel like you are on planet Mars, excellent place to bring your dogs seen there’s so much free and empty places they can run freely,…. Enjoy 🤙🏼

what an amazing area full of geological wonders. You can spend days here exploring all kinds of terrain and discovering lots of volcanic rock and amazing views. The campground area was very peaceful and I recommend at least stopping by for a short visit but I think a longer stay would be needed to really gain a full appreciation of everything this area has to offer.

Beautiful spot. Right off HWY 395. Bring enough food and water for extended stays. Ancient volcanic lava flows. Dry falls. Unique formations. Look for the ancient Indian art on the lava rocks in the canyon. Watch out for the fire ants!

The actual "falls" are well worth a visit. And the BLM campground is nice, with widely-spaced sites at low prices. But also "out back" is a playa with almost unlimited dry-camp boondocking spots. Off the south end of the playa is a 4WD road that goes up to a cool overlook spot, and beyond. Note that there's a closed gate several miles in -- so it's an out-and-back trip. The only downside to this place is that Area-51 is just east, and you can't drive/ride/explore past that boundary.

Small, primitive BLM camping…beautiful scenery! Picnic table & fire ring at each site…vaulted toilets & the cutest hand operated water pump…inexpensive, with an “honest John” box! The short hike to the falls is definitely worth it! Our dogs, Pennie & Joe, enjoyed their stay & give it tail wags & paws up!! 🐾🐾
