Fort Union Campsite

Fort Union is a decent though not great campsite in the southern part of Piercing Arrow, of the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation. Because of it's remoteness, it is a significant walk to anywhere at P.A. and a short walk to Ico. We had a lot of rain and there were many muddy areas around Fort Union - more than most campsites. In addition to the standard good pavilion and lolly, there is a significant building which is great for activities. There is quite a bit of shade, but there also is quite a bit of open area, making it hotter than most P.A. campsites. All things considered, I would try to get a location closer to the center of P.A. though this is not a terrible option. Personally, I would camp in Sawmill because of location, shade and spacing.

Do you like ticks, spiders, bugs? Have you ever felt hotels were just “too nice”? In the heart of the bartle scout reservation, you can commune with nature up close and personal. Merit badges are not included.

Went down for COPEapalooza. It was a lot of fun. Was pretty muddy but manageable. The kids had a blast which is truly the only thing that matters
