Fort Hancock Motel

As a cyclist you are dictated by distance. So travelling from Van Horne to El Paso this seemed a good half way point which is logical. This place is way overpriced for what you get which is nothing. No coffee in room, no breakfast, with a tired look. The rooms need redecorating as wallpaper hanging off,carpets dirty and generally not nice at all. I got the impression that the owners know there is no choice as the next motel is 24 miles away and exploit this fact. That is the wrong attitude to customers. On the plus side the air on does work and the showers are hot, but I do not feel at ease sleeping here. To summarise this would be worth it if about $30 no more no less. Why do you not do breakfast

My friend and I are bicycling across America and were so glad to be able to stay at this comfortable clean motel. While it looked rather sad from the outside, the owner made sure the room key was available via the waitress at the restaurant across the road. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower was hot, and the air conditioning worked. This is five stars for us! Call the owner the day before to make arrangements. Cash payment was required.

Yes it’s not the best looking motel, it’s a classic movie motel. Still it provides value in an area where there’s nothing around. The couple running it are generous and kind. Helped me out and I will never forget it. Thank you guys, I hope your business grows

This is probably the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Everything is old and dirty. Insects everywhere. We had to have our room changed because in one room we opened the fridge and there was the worst possible smell, like someone died in that fridge. All the walls are dirty and the room stinks

This was rough in 1995 when I drove across the country. It was cheap and after driving all day, I didn't care. It looks as rough as it did then. I do remember the restaurant across the street had the best chicken fried steak on the planet. Since it was the first one I had, I had no reference, but to this day I have tried to find one that is comparable.
