This was a beautiful state park, loved the beach, and exploring the old bases and light house, each camp spot had lots of room, bathrooms were very clean.

One of our favorite local places to camp near the strait of Juan de Fuca -- especially during the off season. The views are amazing, the proximity to the Coupeville-Port Townsend ferry is epic, and the campground is well kept. We have stayed here several times in the off-season and always found plenty of campsites open. The actual fort with all its amazing history and incredible views is less than a 10-minute walk. The very walkable beach goes on and on and on with plenty of natural discoveries to be made along the way. Add to all this a fantastic restaurant (Callens) less than 10 minutes away, across from the terminal where Port Townsend is a short ferry ride away for another type of day adventure (at a very reasonable fare).

Nice enough but kind of sparce feeling. I prefer Fort Worden, it's bigger, more walking and biking, nicer bathrooms and showers. If you do stay here try for a place next to the water.

Great campground that is on the water and is a short walk to the fort. The campground has some spots that feel more crowded than others. There is no playground of the little ones, but the fort is close.

A great small campground in a wonderful location. Many of the sites have electricity and water connections. The sites on the waterfront fill up first so make your reservations early. Winter is a great time to visit because the campground doesn't fill up on week days.
