Forest Mill Cabins

We are not rich by any means. In fact, the time is very tough since Covid like for everyone else. But we wanted to spend a nice, peaceful and quiet New Year's, so although $500+ was a little hard for us at the moment, we decided to book this place for a 3-day New Year vacation. After driving 6 hours from NYC, the host texted us and notified us that there is a water pipe burst in the cabin which we booked, but they said they were working on repairing it, so we were still hopeful. However, when we got to the cabin, it was not only a mess inside (as pictures show), but there was no water running in the kitchen, shower or bathroom. We texted the host but no response. STAY AWAY!!!!! Booked the cabin for two nights. Couldn’t get past the first one. We came in at 9:30pm and we were hit with a strong smell of urine and cigarettes. There were open containers of donuts on the table, which makes us guess the previous occupants left and nobody cleaned afterwards. Actually, it looked like nobody had cleaned it in weeks. The toilet was clogged. The fridge was not working. There was no shampoo or dish soap as advertised. The futon was so hard we couldn’t sleep on it so we slept in the homemade bed bunks which didn’t even have a ladder (you needed a steps tool) and looked like they would come crumbling down any minute. The manager refused to refund us for the second night we weren’t there.

We booked this for a month off Airbnb (cost us 2,700$). I had to leave because of my thyroid condition. Was told to provide medical documentation in order to get a refund. THEN Johnny, the only time I spoke with him, was him sending me nasty messages after they offered to give me $600 back, even though we stayed there for 6/28 nights. They said they were being "understanding" about the situation. They are requiring my personal medical history and information and holding my money hostage. They also do NOT follow COVID regulations and I fell sick pretty shortly after being greeted by Brittany in the cabin with no mask on. These cozy little cabins were perfect for the getaway I was looking for. Just minutes from hiking trails and the river! The property owner and managers were friendly and responsive. The cabin had everything we needed!
