Forest Grove Campground

Cycling east to west. $18 site, military/vet is like $8. One pit toilet, only a few sites but you can probably camp anywhere down there. No water but access to the river, with a large boat ramp. I was the only camper on a Tuesday mid summer. Beautiful views. I think there is a local dog with one eye who comes by to see whats going on. Be nice to him and he will be on his way :)

A lot of the reviews on this marker are for Quartz flats campground across the river. This is a very beautiful fishing access area right on the river. $18 overnight if you are from out of state. $7.50 if you are a Montana resident with a fishing license. Very limited number of spots (didn't count, but maybe 3/4). Quartz flats across the way has a ton of spots and yes, very nice hosts. Also cheaper at $15 for the site.

We were in the area for a whitewater rafting adventure, and stumbled across this hidden gem of a B&B. Due to a cancelled flight, we arrived past midnight, but owner Will was more than happy to wait up for us and show us our room. The lodge consists of a beautiful great room with pool table and fireplace, with four rooms adjacent to that. Since we were the only guests, we had all of this to ourselves. The Clark Fork River runs right across the street and you can be trout fishing in a matter of minutes. Breakfast was served anytime we wanted it, and it was outstanding. We didn't eat dinner there but for $30 pp, Will will make you a filet mignon dinner, which isn't a bad option considering the lack of restaurants nearby. Will and his wife Kelly are extremely friendly and personable. T

Here's the thing: this campground's location on the Clark Fork River is absolutely breathtaking. It is right beside a boat ramp though, so you'll have early morning water-goers. That's just a non-negotiable for here. Unfortunately, I had bad camping neighbors who were making insane noise from 11p-4a. But that was on them, not on the campsite. Great space here as long as the neighbors aren't being loud. The sound of the river all night (when I could hear it) was amazing.

We arrived at the beautiful mountain lodge in the evening and were greeted with the warmest welcomes. The ambiance of the entire property is cozy and zen which made it so easy to relax for a couple days. The owners of the property are so wonderful and met all of our accommodations plus more! Waking up to the sounds of birds chirping and enjoying fresh coffee/coffee cake while looking at a view through breathtaking windows made for the perfect morning. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting montana and all we can say is that we wish we had more time here!!
