This place needs some major attention. For starters, you can only make a reservation online but the open spots online don't coordinate with what is actually available once you arrive. Some spots have such deep sand, you really shouldn't pull through them without 4 wheel drive. General grounds care is poor, dead leaves and weeds everywhere, some trash in our site, laundry room door is apparently left open 24/7, it's FULL of leaves and bugs. The pictures on their website are NOT an accurate depiction of the current situation there. Hopefully the newest owners are planning to clean this place up! One positive note, the camp host is a nice guy, he at least tried to make things right.
We really enjoyed Mike’s hospitality at this special park, and were also made to feel very welcome by the other guests. My husband had a great time slowing down, and spending time fishing and relaxing. Wi-Fi was very strong, bathrooms were extremely clean. Thank you for making space for us!
Best part was how helpful and friendly Jim the camp host was upon arrival. He gets 5 stars! The rv park not so much. First impression was this is a dump, from the missing letters on the overhead sign at the entrance to the overall appearance of the park. My site number changed due to prior flooding. New site was unlevel and had very deep loose sand. Decided to only stay one night even though I had reserved 2 nights. Forecast called for thunderstorms and with the recent disaster in Texas, I could not imagine staying this close to the Platte River with so much previous damage to the park.
You really gotta want to fish to stay here, campers are packed in like sardines! It appears most here had self contained campers, I was stuck using the bathroom and shower facilities. The showers worked but not the greatest, push button to run water, keep pushing if you want water. At 6am the shower water was ice cold for the first 10 minutes then screaming hot with no way to turn it down. Toilets weren't the cleanest but passable considering the number of the people there. It was very pretty in the morning, which is about the best thing about this place
Great little place to camp. Friendly staff, hot showers, awesome lake, free wifi and in a quiet part of the country.
