Ferncrest Acadia

Ferncrest Acadia is a gem! This place is perfect for those who don't identify as "campers" but still want an experience closer to nature than a hotel could offer (or anyone who wants a more upscale "glamping" experience in a beautiful place). The domes are cozy and luxurious. The bathhouse/showers are beautiful and spotless - no icky campground bathrooms here. My interactions with staff, both remotely and on-site, were pleasant and helpful. Ferncrest is conveniently located just before the Deer Isle bridge and about an hour from Acadia (without the Bar Harbor chaos). I loved hanging out in the sauna after a long day of exploring. We camped in a primitive spot at Ferncrest Acadia over 8/22-8/24/25. The location was accessible for us to a family visit in Surrey. We arrived after 10PM but were easily able to find our campsite and get settled. All was quiet and peaceful, with loons calling in the distance (sweet!). The proximity to the showers/lavatories was great; not so close that we heard people but close enough to walk over when needed. Everything was spotless and well organized. Our communications with staff, both remotely and on-site (Caleb) were extremely helpful, with prompt and accurate responses. Would definitely return.

We had a wonderful weekend getaway at Ferncrest Acadia. The location is perfect - all of the coastal Maine beauty without the crowds and traffic. The dome was stocked with everything we needed, from water and coffee, to firewood and marshmallow roasting sticks. Caleb and his team have done an incredible job of making the space welcoming and relaxing. The sauna and cold plunge were a major highlight. I wish we could have stayed longer! It was just so relaxing and there are so many great trails nearby.

We LOVED Ferncrest! This was our first time in Acadia and we loved the location. Just outside bar harbor but close to stonington and blue hill. Quiet, cozy and gorgeous. Definitely worth it just for the sauna after a long day of hiking. Cabin and bathroom were so clean and stocked with wonderful products . Will definitely be back!

We stayed in the cabin with our dog for 3 days and it was a fantastic experience! The staff was really supportive, the location perfect for visiting Acadia National Park and the cabin well equipped for cold weather. The bathroom / shower is in a separated building but easy to access and clean. Recommended 100%
