Fern Ridge Shores RV Park

This is not a place to bring your kids to have fun! The only designated swimming area is a little beach-like area that is very muddy and seems to be where all the lake debris is washed up at. It is also a place where the wake from the boats seems to be the heaviest and therefore not good for little kids either. This swim area is located a mild distance away from the camping area so it requires a little bit of a stroll through the private living area in order to get there as well. The staff was very uptight and all over the kids. One of our campers had picked up some smooth stone from the private drive, thinking they were just rocks,  and used it to skip a rock across the lake. Traveling thru the area without reservations for a place to stay, called and got reservations for dry camping here super easy. Staff was super kind and helpful!! Got to set up our tent right on Fern Ridge Lake - carp were jumping like crazy, but no bites. Was trying for some crappie as well but no luck. Area was beautiful and clean. It rained overnight and into the morning, giving everything a quiet, peaceful atmosphere. Dogs are more than welcome - keep on a leash. Bathrooms were clean and easily available. Saw deer and quail. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Will definitely be back for camping again!

I just loved it. A huge water body and you can stay right in front of the water. There are permanent RV residents too loving in the site. I personally love water and this particular site had not people around, and was in a calm surrounding. I just sat there for sometime and listened to the nature. You can day visit or stay at night if you have an RV.

Great campground. Richardson Park was full and so I ended up here. $25 for a front row seat on the lake. Such a deal. No hookups with that. I think you have to be a long-term residence to have hookups.
