Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Richfield

The front desk staff could use a class in “customer service 101”! They have a lot of room for growth. The housekeepers were super nice and went above and beyond providing exceptional guest services.

The room was great. Pillows and bed were very comfortable, which isn't always the case at Marriott. The workout room was small but nice with brand new equipment. Breakfast options could be healthier. Bananas and hard-boiled eggs were the best options. Otherwise, there was lots of processed garbage. There are lots of good food options within a couple of miles of the hotel.

Stayed for two nights with my wife on a hiking vacation, exploring some of Southern Utah's more interesting treks. We were greeted warmly on arrival, and the receptionist put some work into giving us a room that met our specifications. Breakfast was served hot and promptly every morning, and was much better than the usual fare one might expect at similar hotels. In particular we enjoyed the Jimmie Dean's sausage muffins, and the waffle machine worked perfectly each day. The day-long available hot coffee was also much appreciated. Finally, and awesomely, the hotel is incredibly clean. We ran into Reese - who seems to do much of this work - a couple of times, including in the elevator where she was carefully cleaning all the walls. I couldn't give all 5 stars because of the pretty bad breakfast we were offered. It was the first time ever I was not able to eat it because it was pretty disgusting. It was a breakfast sandwich wrapped in plastic. Is this how they are supposed to be warmed up? The rest of the stay was fine. Typical budget hotel amenities. Location was great, though!

I know that this seems a silly thing, but I am only comparing this location to other Marriott hotels throughout the world (not other chains). I am a creature of habit. I book through the app (even though the price is a bit higher in some cases). I do this so that my identity is confirmed, my payment is secure, and I can check in with the mobile key option. Then, when I arrive at the hotel, usually tired from a full days work, I can look at my phone, see my room number, and then unlock the door using my phone and be done. At this location, I can do all of these steps, but when I arrive at the location, it does not give the room number through the app. I am required to go to the desk, stand in line (if there is one), show my ID, give them a credit card for incidental charges (not sure what t
