Fabens Inn Motel

No this is not a five star hotel. However it did rescue me from a Texas sandstorm while riding through on my adventure bike. Room 106 was clean, comfortable, had all needed amenities, refrigerator, microwave, TV with all channels, bathtub/shower, coffee maker, reasonably comfortable bed, AC that works, and bright new LED lighting. It is next to a noisy truck stop (with Chester's chicken), but with the AC fan on low I was not annoyed by the trucks. I enjoyed the break and would gladly stay here again. $85 plus 18% tax came to $99.

The room was clean hot water and cool a/c and clean sheets as I was traveling 1-10 from Arizona to Georgia needed to rest I very much appreciated finding .

All I require at any motel are: WiFi, outlets to recharge the eBatteries on my “FrankenBike”, recharge my cellphone/battery backup, firm bed, heat/ac, WC, locking front door, blackout curtains with little light seepage, microwave, TV with cable, microwave, ground floor, and QUIET‼️ |The fabulous Fabens Inn Motel (Southwest corner, Fabens Road & I-10, Texas exit 49) has all of those features EXCEPT I could not get WiFi in my room (122), which cost one star. Other pluses included: fast hot water, fresh ice machine, in-room coffee/tea, mini-fridge, eye-level shelf in the shower/bath. |My remedy for the lack of WiFi in this room was to cycle West about a mile/km to McDonald’s, which has EXCELLENT WiFi as well as delicious /nutritious food!|The Fabens inn Motel definitely has my coveted “¡Whee

The motel was exactly what I needed at the time. It was clean, located right next to a hotdog restaurant and a convenient store for truckers. The workers were really friendly. They just need to fix the ceiling because it started raining and it began dripping in my room. I called to let them know and they came right away. They offered a new room but I was to tired to change rooms. Overall it wasn't a bad stay.

This place is the biggest ripoff I've ever seen. A $58 room rate went to a total bill of $125 with no explanation and she actually seemed happy I was upset. Remote control for tv didn't work. Place is extremely cheap. Would recommend avoiding at all costs.
