Extended Stay America Suites- Minneapolis - Airport - Mendota Heights

Stayed at this location for 2 nights with my kids to visit family in St Cloud. Every staff person was friendly and helpful. They were very nice to my kids as well and listened to them as they gushed about how much they were enjoying their stay. The hotel was very clean and felt very safe. Grab and go breakfast had quite a bit of variety as did the vending machines. Definitely will stay here next time we visit.

NOT what I expected at all. I use ESA all the time for work and felt comfortable booking here for a short trip home for the holidays. Before we entered the building, the parking lot was totally messed up with major chunks of ice everywhere - clearly no plowing service had been hired for the entire winter. So first red flag on the management aptitude right there. When we entered the room the, door handle was stuck unlatched. The walls were dented and scuffed all around the room (I don't even know how that is possible - as if it was used for industrial purposes or something). The door to the bathroom had impact scratches around it as if someone had someone had to break into it at some point, the chair was ripped up, the bed spread was stained and ripped, there was grease looking residue on t

Positive: Close location to the airport. Negative: Elevators were not working and my room was on the 3rd floor at the end of the hall. I had to endure noise from guests using the stairway door. Front desk staff had no clue when the elevators would be fixed. The room was not very clean. TV not working.

Front desk guy asked if my card was charged as he couldn't tell and he didn't want to double charge me. I just said yes it was. Bathroom smelled of urine, vinyl plank flooring throughout and sticky to walk on. Remote to tv doesn't work. Drywall rubbed off where chair had been hitting, so no maintenance and no pride. Good price and good location though if going to airport, but be aware of planes flying right over
