Extended Stay America Suites- Kansas City - Shawnee Mission

I don’t usually write reviews but after staying here this past week and seeing some of the reviews on here for this location I decided I’d share about my experience. When I checked in I was helped by an impressive young man named Steve I believe. He was very friendly and professional. I say impressive because in the first part of my stay there was a fire on the property. A car caught fire in the parking lot in front of the building I stayed in. When the fire alarm went off I went outside to see smoke and other guests evacuating the building. I was relieved to find it was a car on fire and not the building. Steve was on top of the situation almost instantly. He came running (with two fire extinguishers) telling people to stand back and started trying to put out the fire immediately. He sent

DO NOT STAY HERE! The room was disgusting and I found multiple roaches. The room was not clean. Nothing worked. NO wifi. Someone had removed the batteries from the TV remote. I am planning on calling the Health Department and any other entity that can shut this place down. BEWARE.

Positive: The bed was comfortable and the front desk staff was incredibly helpful and kind Negative: It smelled however, the staff did say that they tried their best to clean it and the guest before me did not treat the room well. So I appreciate them trying to fix the situation. The floor also kind of felt gross. Almost like there was a film on top

This was the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed at. Nothing was clean, the sheets were stained, there was mold in the shower and dust caked on the a/c unit, dead bugs all over the room and the cabinets had a layer of grease. I booked this for a week and then was refused a refund when I complained that the room was dirty. I was told that the manager would be in touch, I called for a week and was never able to speak with them. I've been calling the corporate customer service line for over a month now and all I hear is "someone will reach out in 48hrs." They never have. I got screwed out of $800.

3 out of five stars on customer service because 3 employees absolutely great. I stayed at this hotel for a good while in December into January and the overnight help Sasha is awful!! She is not very helpful and when I asked for help she was very rude. Her customer service skills definitely not on point hence over night shift!! Even at that, no one should be allowed to be short or rude to customers that ask for their key to be remade or sheets for a bed because honestly I should be able to call front desk ask for towels and sheets and have them brought to the room! That’s how it’s supposed to work. I will say this much. If I'm driving over the road all day and all night and I stop here to rest for the night and that’s who I have to interact with best believe I’m gonna go somewhere else f
