Extended Stay America Select Suites- Orlando - Airport

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The entire hotel smelled — strong, stale odors mixed with cannabis throughout the hallways and common areas. It was not just the room. The property felt poorly maintained, dirty, and honestly shady. The overall atmosphere made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. There were cockroaches and ants in the room, and I had to buy insect spray myself just to be able to sleep. That is unacceptable for any hotel. The trash situation was poorly handled. It seemed like my key cards were locked specifically to force me to go to the lobby so they could tell me not to leave trash outside the room. I was ready to leave a decent review of this place. The staff worked with us to find a downstairs room that didn't smell of weed (it took 3 tries), the roaches were only in the hallway and maintenance fixed the a/c that went out during our stay. It was not the worst place to stay while our house was fixed. We were even able to ignore the daily police presence and arrests of guests. ||||Then we got to check out day. ||||We were promised a late check out by Stephanie, she entered it into the computer in front of us that we were leaving at 12:30pm. So imagine our surprise when we came back from a trip to our house at 11:05am to find the staff had already been in our room and taken ONLY the more valuable items. The front desk agent seemed to think it was funny that she'd gone through the room.

Positive: Close to the MCO airport. Negative: Waited more then 10 minutes for someone to show up at the check-in counter, floor in bathroom was buckled from previous water damage, no coffee pot in room and none available in lobby either. Not impressed.

I recently left a review and I should have explained my review better so here goes. The management is absolutely AMAZIMG here and I truly enjoy my stay here. As far as the property that's where my review was concerning. The property just needs some tlc some new plants, pressure washing and the laundry facilities are a bit too pricy but I love staying here and I love the girls that work here they really, really work hard and they do it with a smile. They have big hearts and they have great personalities which I enjoy. Peggy the manager is absolutely fantastic with her tenants and guest. She isn't just a "hotel manager" she us a therapist, landlord, mom, friend, & security if need be. Idk how these girls do it but I'm glad they do. A 💯👍👏🫶

Refused late check-in despite posted instructions — unacceptable treatment of family with children I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Extended Stay America Select Suites in Orlando. When I made my reservation, I clearly stated in the booking comments that my flight was delayed and that I would be arriving late (around 2–3 AM) with my three children. When I arrived at approximately 2:45 AM, I was able to enter the front lobby, but the second door to access the front desk was locked. There was a clearly posted sign instructing guests to dial “0” on the wall phone for late check-in between 10 PM and 6 AM. I followed those instructions exactly.
