Extended Stay America Select Suites- Grand Rapids - Kentwood

I needed a place to stay for at least 10 weeks after my condo sold. During that time I also was recovering from hip surgery. The room was prefect for the recovery. If it rained I was able to walk the hallway to get in my required walking. I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. I was able to fix meals during the stay rather than have to go out to eat all the time which was really helpful and a cost saving. I would stay there agian.

Honestly not a great experience. There was a hole in the ceiling, talked to someone about it and nothing was done. The hot water didnt work more than half the time, and when it did I had 2 minutes of hot water. Claimed they didnt allow smoking but all my stuff smelled like cigarettes when I left. The hallways smelled like somebody died in a room. I also had my service dog with me. A complaint was made against him claiming he was aggressive (the person who made the complaint was in their car, while my dog was simply taking a pee). The kicker was this guy claimed to work for the hotel, all while hot boxing the vehicle. Thought this was a smoke free area. A notice was put on my door stating a fee was being added due to my dog being "aggressive". When I went to the front desk to talk to somebo

UPDATE: Manager did call me and had many apoligies and gave us a refund. I was happy to hear from her. She plans on looking into the matter. If you are staying for the night you will have to bring your own ice, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer and disenfectant. Dirty room, dirty lobby, garbage overfilled in walkway. Food crumbs in the dresser drawers. This place is basically a Notel Motel. We got back to our room later at night and had a strong marijuana smell ONLY in our room. Thankfully nothing was misplaced or stolen. And the "tenants" above us were walking around ALL night long!!! Placed a complaint to the manager by email and never heard back from him. Would not reccomend unless you are in need of shelter for an extended time.

This hotel comes equipped with friendly staff, double charges, with no refund, roaches, spider bites, mystery stained sheets, dirty towels which requires a $2 exchange fee no onsite staff after 10pm you must call the number on the door average response time is 25-45 min best of luck. The staff is genuinely friendly. However it took a spider bite a room change and complains before the manager finally put in a work order please be advised bring your own sheets, towels, roach spray. Ignore the smell the hallway.

Positive: Kitchen area Negative: Yes no staff available , every time u leave the room your key not working once u go outside. And you have to pay for towels never heard of it.
