Me and some friends stayed in the main cabin for a convention in Bangor. Were all rural dwellers anyways so we enjoyed the drive down and the distance from civilization. It was pretty clean and we had a full kitchen set, washer/dryer, soap and all the necessities. Only complaint was the bed upstairs was very squeaky but we moved to the floor temporarily with no issue, the walls are also very thin but this was also not too big a problem for us. The view of the stars at night is incredible, we wish we stayed longer and we’ll definitely be coming back.
I want to thank Debbie and her family for a wonderful 2 weeks. We were greeted upon arrival, and made to feel like family from the moment we got settled. Almost every morning we were able to see wildlife (turkeys and deer) in the clearing, and had some of the most awesome photographic opportunities. Debbie is a wonderful hostess. I will be recommending Exeter Nature Cabins to any of my friends who may be coming to Maine for their vacation. We are already planning on our next trip and definitely staying here again
Our family stayed here for a week during the summer (we rented both cabins) and loved every minute of our visit. We wish we could have stayed longer. The cabins are affordable, humble, and comfortable. Plenty of space, heated, kitchens, laundry (in large cabin), eclectic style of furnishings. Just what you'd expect and they are surrounded by Maine's majestic beauty. The best part for us was the owner's hospitality, being surrounded by nature, and the peaceful tranquil setting. This is off the beaten path (just what we wanted!) and served our needs very well. There are trails and plenty of outdoor activities on site. We saw deer, turkey, owls, hummingbirds, butterflies, wild flowers, just to name a few. For us, the location was centrally located with easy drives to Moosehead lake, Bangor, an
I rented the smaller cabin dying this spring when I was in the area for school. Cabin was very comfortable and in a very secluded area surrounded by woods and farm fields. Was a really nice change of scenery compared to crowed cities and coastline. Would highly recommend if wanting to get away from it all.
Ok my friend rented this cabin for our Maine trip… we were so excited until we opened the door. I understand it’s the woods… the owner requested a $125 additional fee for cleaning the cabin. Well, let me tell you…. The cabin was filthy. Bugs, spiders, flies all over the cabin, bathroom was filthy, tub had all kinds of bugs crawling… could not take a shower… aside the fact we had no water and could not reach owner till next day. We slept with our eyes open… due to all the sheets being dirty, and bugs all over the beds… it was horrible!! No water to flush, no water to was your hands …. Horrible!! I do not know how you can rent such a place and get away with it!!! I do not recommend it… do not waste your money…. As we did, cause she did not give us a dime back and we had to leave the next day
