This place is a bit of an odd duck. It’s on a beautiful location, so that part was excellent. The owner operator was also very kind and attentive so I really appreciated that. The odd parts I’ll mention are: It was hard to understand how much your campsite costs. There is only one shower and it is pretty much impossible to use. There is one flush toilet in the same hut as the shower. There are 3 portable toilets. The campsites are way too close together which probably only matters if you’re visiting at a busy time. Lastly the campground got completely taken over by day-use folks and was trying to support many more folks than it could comfortably accommodate. If I went back it would have to be in the middle of the week in an off season so that we could really thoroughly enjoy this spot.

We visited a few weeks ago. We were in the area angain and our kids wanted a beach area to swim. I reached out to the owner, she was very accommodating and even slip our boat and enjoy the day. The views are breathtaking. I encourage anyone who visits to explore the ground, you can find secluded areas to enjoy.

The site has beautiful views and a small, private, calm beach, which was very enjoyable. However, the camp sites are VERY small. We had a 6 person tent and trying to give the next site space (we were 2' from their picnic table) meant we were 8" from our fire pit, leaving it unusable. You park your car on your site as well, so between that and the low-hanging trees there are minimal configuration options (and many of the sites wouldn't even have accommodated the tent). Would be a great spot if they weren't trying to cram 2x the sites that the area can really accommodate. While you can rent/buy everything the web site lists, I'm not sure when the sales booth is actually open. At the price point ($65/night), I expected better and it felt like a bait and switch from what's marketed on the web

I stayed here in a tent one night in February, and had a good time. This area along the Patuxent was beautiful, the site was well-maintained, and the host was friendly and helpful. The pier was a great place to sit, though I may want to bring a chair next time. The area was peaceful, but not quiet. There was a fair amount of traffic noise from the nearby bridge, even throughout the night. Still, I would recommend this campsite to anyone, and I hope to come back sometime.

Nestled in a quiet town, this campground offers a peaceful retreat. It’s the best non-touristy campground I’ve ever been to! The pier is fantastic, especially for cat fishing. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful with any needs we had when we were there.
