Ely Lake Campground

I love it here but I know It might be too rustic for many with no running water besides what you can pump and vault type toilets hence the 4 star. My granddaughter and I went around and rated most of the wells some did have a bit of mineral taste but a few were very clean tasting. The new playground is a big hit and they ask when are we going back. Unfortunately their mother was disappointed that there were no showers even though we offered the RVs. Project outdoor shower hooked to RV.

This place has the potential to be a really wonderful campground. However due to the generator use, it totally ruined my tent camping experience. People had their generators on from 7:00pm to 9am. I couldn't even enjoy a campfire because the guy next to me had his on. If you are OK with that it is fine, but if you are looking for a quiet, secluded camping experience, go somewhere else.

A recent camping weekend at Ely Lake was so disappointing for so many reasons. It was unfortunate because in the past we have experienced family camping trips at this location that were very peaceful and enjoyable. The motorhome next to us ran a generator almost all the time ( very loud) and the police had to come out two days in a row for domestic disturbances and unruly intoxicated guests. The outhouses had fecal matter smeared all of and not cleaned on a daily basis. Hoping this was just an off weekend but would love for the campground to have stronger guidelines and rule enforcement to keep it a safe and peaceful vacation for all families. Would also Advocate for generator free sections to be made available if possible.

READ THE ONE STAR REVIEWS...stayed here on June 06, 2025 to June 08, 2025. I read the reviews before I camped and should have considered the 1 star ratings more as I had a very similar experience.. It's a shame too because it's a very nice area and the sites are spacious. The noise and partying was so out of control, it completely blows my mind how that many people can completely disregard the others around them. Hooping and hollering all through the night. On the way out there, I felt bad that I was going disturb the peace because I was arriving a little late(after "quiet" hours), that wasn't the case, people were up all through the night making all kinds of noise.
