Elk Creek Ranch

We had a wedding dinner here. The chef was so great to work with, the staff was friendly and easy-going. The food was absolutely incredible, as were the views.

Stopped by on the recommendation of a local, and I'm very glad to have done so! One of the oldest buildings in Idaho state- initially built as an inn for travellers, it was converted into a ranch and now is an attraction for fly fishing. They have cabins, a large communal building, a big creek out back for private fishing, and plenty of wildlife in the area. The structures themselves are gorgeous and a treat for anyone with an interest in turn of the century architecture. Tons of character and interesting things to see. If I were a fly fishing or historical enthusiast, this is the place I'd go! The staff are great- specifically Alonzo- the food phenomenal, and the whole area is just a great experience.

We stayed here for 4 nights in July. This review is based on the stay at our rustic cabin. It may be that the other rustic cabins are in much better shape. Cost was $378/night, which included 3 meals. ||||THE GOOD:||Dinners were excellent. Alfonzo is a great chef. Breakfast good. Sack lunch OK. Note that you can stay elsewhere and eat dinner here.||||Scenery is superb. A very pretty and relaxing setting on a small lake.||||Staff is friendly and attentive.||||THE BAD:||Lighting in the cabin is mostly marginal. This could easily be fixed.||||Hot water faucet (sink) barely turned on. This could easily be fixed.||||Front door does not close, not even close. ||||Lots of openings in log walls where mosquitoes can and do come in. We also enjoyed your incredible cooking as did the local residents that filled the dining at dinner. Everything you prepared was absolutely fantastic. We looked forward to coming back to Eagle Creek after a long day of fishing for another wonderful meal. Your team was also very nice and friendly. We will definitely come back to Eagle Creek and the beautiful setting and clean & comfortable accommodations.

Outstanding 3 course dinner, excellently prepared and presented. Cooked as ordered(prime rib) and very tasty. Salad was superb as was the desert. Located in an old log building that has a long history. We have been coming here for over 10 years and the food has always been great. Highly recommended.
