Elk Cove Inn & Spa

My partner and I stayed in the Surfsong Cottage at Elk Cove Inn. What a beautiful location! We are planning to go back as soon as possible. The staff welcomed us warmly and provided excellent, personal service. Because of roadwork and detours, we almost missed the dinner cutoff time, but they were prepared with a Plan B for us if we had needed it. We also have breakfast delivered to the room. The place was clean, nicely decorated, and the best part was the windows looking toward the coast. They left us complimentary gifts and goodies. Delightful all around. Thank you!

Wonderful Romantic Hideaway on the Mendocino Coast with a beautiful view of a large ocean rock that is in Elk Cove. We enjoyed breakfasts and dinner in our room. The service is friendly and helpful. I had stayed at ECI several times 20 so odd years ago with my late husband. This was my second husband’s first trip here and he loved it as much as I do. We will be back!

10/10 RECOMMEND!!!! We got married at Elk Cove Inn, and it was the most amazing weekend. Melissa and her husband out did themselves. This place is built on love and you can feel it!!! The food was out of this world! Everything was delicious and big portions. Our whole family has raved about the food. The rooms were clean, big and cozy. Felt like home while we were there, we never wanted to leave! Melissas attention to detail and attentiveness was spot on the entire weekend. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue. It was a dream location and we just loved it so much!!! And one more time for the food, IT WAS AMAZING!!! Will recommend this place to everyone for the rest of our lives. We can’t wait until we can come back :)

Just down the hill from the minuscule town of Elk (just south of Mendocino) lies the boutique B&B of Elk Cove Inn. The dozen+ beach cottages are rustic, cozy, private, with sublime views of Elk Cove, a typical NorCal beach with a gigantic rock splashed with waves. It is the most peaceful place I have ever stayed at, and I've been all over the world. I don't know if its the nestled-in privacy of the place, Melissa the wonderful owner/host, the terrific on-premises restaurant, or what, but one day I just sat by the window and watched the waves batter the giant rock outcropping as the rain (Feb.) came purgatively down, cleansing my soul, or what. I was visiting the Mendoncino coastline and in search of a nice place to stay and I discovered the Elk Cove Inn and Spa. What a beautiful hidden gem on Hwy 1. Innkeepers and staff were wonderful. The food is completely over the top with a world renown (my words) chef. Room was comfy and the bed was terrific. Room service breakfast (included) was delivered HOT. Explored the beach and coastline with a path down to the shore. Beautiful location and highly recommend. I plan on returning in the coming weeks.
