Elephant Head Lodge

I’m sorry this review is so late. Elephant head lodge was wonderful. It was a quiet, beautiful, and serene location in the mountains. The cabin was very comfortable and nice. We had a living room, full kitchen, and two bedrooms with 3 beds and a bunk bed for the kids. There were lots of things to do…..wish we had more time to spend and enjoy the amenities. Debbie was very sweet and helpful. She had suggestions for things to do, maps, etc. it was like staying with family! Debbie took the time to answer any questions that we had. Her staff was also very friendly and helpful. This was a last minute trip and I was very stressed, but Debbie was very helpful and made everything so easy for us. And we had free ice that they provided for our cooler which we took along to Yellowstone Park... I ho

We spent 6 nites at elephant head lodge and it was wonderful. The restaurant was closed due to unable to get a cook. We had our own food so all was good. Debbie was so informative and was able to answer any questions. We did the big slam at Yellowstone on accident but it was fun. The staff we met at lodge were great. Super friendly and very hard workers. Planning on another trip in 2 yrs.

We stayed at Elephant Head years ago for our trip to Yellowstone and the Tetons. It was a tranquil, serene, and calming place that served as a great home base. The lack of, or minimal, cell service made us slow down and enjoy everything around us. The cabin was clean and the check in was simple. There was also a nice patio that was closed at the time of our trip, but they let our large party use it for a group meal.

The woman working the front desk needs an attitude adjustment. I have a service animal which the woman was indignant about. Went on a rant about how people “abuse the system”. Accused my dog of making a mess everywhere and when I inquired further she said I didn’t clean up where he peed (mind you this is outside, on trees, bushes etc). I offered to show her my documentation from my MD as well as training certificates for the dog and she wasn’t interested, just wanted to be upset. Unfortunate experience because the place was otherwise pretty great. Conveniently located just outside of Yellowstone and across from a beautiful river. Cabins are very rustic so don’t expect anything more.

What a perfect place to slow down, relax, and enjoy beautiful cabin views! We loved our clean, historic cabin, perched under the pines & the elephant head rock formation. We wished we could have stayed longer and will certainly be back! We loved the pause from WiFi & TV and it helped us unplug!! Need to call someone? No problem— there is a fun rotary phone for guests to call out! We loved opening our cabin windows, listening to the birds, the wind through the Aspen leaves, sitting on our porch, and playing various board games provided by our host. The cabin window box flowers along with the wildflowers around the property were beautiful. These cabins are in a perfect, quiet location just outside the East entrance of Yellowstone.
