Econo Lodge Sturbridge: Where Cleanliness Checks Out Before You Do… smh If you’ve ever wanted to star in your own low-budget true crime episode, this is the perfect set. The room door looked like it had been kicked in during a raid, complete with what appeared to be a bullet hole as an accent feature for that extra touch. The door mat looked like it was used to collect engine drippings under a car. The shower had accents of black mold to add contrast. The carpet in the room was visibly dirty and sticky in some spots, the towels were exfoliating, one even was shredding and falling apart and the air carried a unique aroma of mildew and despair. Husband booked a motel room for work (extended stay) - booked & paid in advance directly through the motel. A couple weeks later he had to cancel giving them 1 weeks notice but was told they would not refund. I called later that day and asked about their cancellation policy and was advised two days cancellation required. I then gave them my husband's name to look up his booking and asked why they won't refund his reservation then. They indicated "oh, because there is a something going on that weekend in town so that's different" but at the end of the conversation they did agree to honor the refund. I waited a week and didn't see the refund on the credit card so I called back and they apologized and said they got busy and forgot. I called back again a few days later and same thing..."they f

Room was clean, with a fridge and microwave, quiet. My only issue was the bed and pillows are very firm. I would recommend bringing your own pillow if that's an issue for you, too.

Quick service quite atmosphere cheap prices clean room nice staff definitely recommend if you in the area and in need of a place to stay!
