Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Diamondhead

If I could give 0 stars I would. The worst experience I have EVER had checking into a hotel in my life. EXTREMELY RUDE. We were asked to pay a $60 CASH deposit when we got there with no warning beforehand. My husband asked if he could break $100 and man at the counter said yes. Upon handing him the $100 bill, he says “could I just keep it?” We said no bc he told us it was only $60. He then prints a paper that states the deposit is $50!!!!!! So of course we questioned and asked why he was asking to keep our $100. He then tells us we cannot stay until we pay $100. The room was extremely disgusting, smelled like mold & smoke combined, and overall was not worth the argument or crappy experience. So we left and went elsewhere. We also took a video of room as soon as we walked in as proof.

Pleasant and helpful manager at the desk. Comfortable bed. AC worked great. Liked the flooring. No carpet, thank God. We felt safe.

Stopped by here for a quick overnight heading into New Orleans with my husband and teenage son. The hotel is older but the rooms very clean and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast was very basic. We didn’t use the pool but it looked nice and was being cleaned when we arrived. This was great value for a quick stop. We would definitely stop here again.

The hotel was very clean, but unfortunately my room was on the second floor and the elevator was broken. Breakfast was complimentary but the scrambled eggs were inedible. When I went to the lobby for coffee in the morning they were out.

Technically got what we paid for, but not the friendliest experience. Upon arrival, waited around for the front clerk. We were told we need $50 CASH for a security deposit. I'm not sure what would have happened if my friend didn't have it cash. The lady had to inspect our room before we were allowed to leave and get the cash back. The room when we checked in still had food in the fridge from another guest, so i'm not sure the point there. Also, the outside door nearest to our room was not locked. The bar on door was zip tied shut on a hotel right next to the road... not safe.
