Eagle & Rose Inn

Great stay at the Eagle and Rose Inn in Middletown. The property is clean, well maintained, and quiet, making it a comfortable place to stay. The rooms are spacious, well furnished, and very clean. Mrs. Charlene the inn keeper is friendly, helpful, and responsive, and the check-in process was easy. The location is convenient for getting around Lake County and nearby areas, while still feeling peaceful.

It is pleasant for its age, built I believe in the 1930's, it is clean, quite and on the edge of Town. It is most frequented by contractors that work at the Calpine - Geysers facility outside of town. Sometimes their activities are noisy, but not too often. I have stayed here about four times, and each time the receptionist was a young lady by the name of Ceci, who was very pleasant. I stopped going there when she quit. A room was $82.00 p/night in Aug 2012. It may have gone up slightly since then. Each time it was pleasant, and quiet. The limitation is parking, and if your not an early riser, I would not advise staying here, as all the contractors get up at the crack of dawn to warm up their diesel riggs to go up the hill. I have never given a bad on-line review to anyone or any entity and unfortunately this is my first. I got off the phone earlier today with whom I think was “Joe”, possibly the manager regarding my complaint over a dirty room (esp floors) and perhaps sheets that had dirt or maybe sand. The customer service was probably the worst I have experienced, including dealing with the French (no I’m not Francophobic, my wife is French and we go there a couple of times a year). After taking a morning shower I noticed dirt outside the shower and after walking back to my bed my feet were black from the dirty floor, yes black. I left early in the morning for a court case, before the managers were available at 10am. By noon yesterday I was driving back to Monterey. I only asked for an adjustment to the $

Room had a dirty floor, there was plaster left on the floor from some type of work that was done. Bed was very uncomfortable and the air conditioning unit was so loud it woke me up several times during the night.The shower did work very well and that was the only plus about the room. When I spoke to the manager in the morning about the issues, she shrugged her shoulders and blamed the cable guy, definitely will not stay there again.

My husband and I had a truly wonderful stay at Eagle & Rose Inn! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine kindness by Ms. Charlene, the Innkeeper. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Her helpful suggestions and caring attitude made our trip so much smoother and more enjoyable. The inn itself is peaceful, clean, and charming—perfect for a quiet getaway. The room was spotless, the bed was cozy, and we really appreciated the attention to detail. It felt like staying at a home away from home. We’re especially grateful to Ms. Charlene for her hospitality. She’s one of the kindest and most thoughtful hosts we’ve ever met. Thank you for making our stay so memorable—we’ll definitely be coming back!
