E-Z Rest Motel Arlington

I made reservations in person last Sept 20, 2005 for 3 rooms for this past Saturday August 19, 2006 (150th anniversary of the towns founding) I did recheck my reservation this pass June 8, 2006, when I was passing thru Arlington and was assured everything was in order according to the clerk working that day. Later I was told she was let go. I did call this past week August 15, 2006 and was told we had no rooms. the reason being a wedding party was booked. The person I talked to had a very "I really do not care" attitude. This is a small motel in a small town, one would think you would be treated better. The next town Gaylord, MN (7 miles) has a nice motel the Gold Leaf Inn & Suites they were happy to take care of our needs. My reccomendation by pass the Arlington Motel in Arlington, MN.|

UPDATE: BED BUGS - we left the motel 8 days ago and were there 3 nights. We were itching while there but didn't see anything. The exterminator said the normal infestation time is 10 to 14 days. This inexpensive motel is now costing $400 for the 1st treatment of bed bugs, and we need 3 treatments. I'm ok with older motels as long as they are clean. I asked when checking in if it was clean and was told it is "very clean". The heater/air conditioner was so dirty I didn't want to touch it. I was afraid to walk barefoot on the carpet. And the smell was so bad we had to burn candles when we were in the room. We were visiting family in the area and we have 2 cats, so this was our only choice. Even our cats hid the whole time. I stayed there this past weekend, I asked the owner about the bedbugs that someone had posted. He said he talked to the lady and and told her, mattresses and pillows have protectors on them and nobody else complained. Then told her went through the rooms and didn't find any bugs. Room was nice and clean.

It was a really nice room, had a shower and the essentials. There’s a gas station and bowling alley right across the street. Across highway 5 there’s a really good classy restaurant, highly recommend eating there if you stay here. It’s got a TV, fridge, and microwave. Room was nice and clean when I walked in and smelled fresh. It was quiet and calming the entire duration of my stay.

Our thermostat hose broke so our truck was overheating even with a little temporary fix to our destination… but that failed us and the truck surely started to overheat again and instead of panicking I quickly searched google for the nearest motel/hotel near us and Arlington E-Z rest motel was the closest thing we had to warmth, mind you it’s -5 degrees and 1am on a Tuesday night, despite the owner not picking up at first, we didn’t give up and shortly after like the 7th call he finally answered and we were able to get to shelter with warmth. Not the prettiest motel around it sure but nothing beats these small towns hospitality that’s for sure, he was able to accommodate to our desperate needs at this time and I’m thankful for that!
