Nice free camping with hot showers, a dump station, and flush toilets. Nice mix of sites with shade and sun. Everything is kept clean. We were here at Christmas and the host was super and even gave us Christmas cookies and an ornament she had painted herself. Our only complaint was some people who were a little loud setting up late one night with headlights on bright shining through our windows as well as our neighbors. Aside from that… it was a great and peaceful place to spend the holidays.

Very nice boondocking spot. Sites are very large and nicely laid out. Many have nearly full shade, but there are some with good sun for your solar. There is potable water at several locations in the campground. The Equestrian areas are separate but near, lots of barns with stalls or large fenced paddocks. There are probably 35-40 miles of trails to ride. There is also a dump station.

So the campground itself has a lot to offer. Great amenities for a free place to boondocks! The hosts were very friendly, welcoming and informative. Beautiful natural trees throughout and critters living in them. Taking a cold shower after many hot days on the road and a sunburn was amazing. However... The humans are less than desirable. The sheer number, the rudeness... Just not like the other permit sites I've been to in Florida. Walking and driving right through the middle of your site! It got so bad I was sick to my stomach and lightheaded from the exhaust fumes. I had to park my dually truck to block off the part of my site that my RV wasnt occupying as a preventative measure but even then, they still tried to drive through my site?!?!?! It's rude to walk through someone else's site

I visited the Equestrian Campground for 3 days w my horse The trails are well marked and maintained. It’s easy to get lost if you don’t follow the numeric system displayed at the white cross markers. Word of caution: the large red barn with stalls and paddocks is infested with rats. The smell of rat piss is so strong that horses do not want to enter. You can actually hear them at all times of the day. The SFWMD should put up traps or poison because it poses a serious health threat to both humans and animals. This is why I am giving 3 stars. Otherwise, the restroom and shower facilities are clean. The water hoses need replacing from time to time. Everything else was wonderful. (

Free campground, 25 spots on non-eqisterial side. Dump station and non-potable water on site. Special free license required. Place seems booked on weekends for the whole winter but work days are available.
