Downsville Motel

I've stayed at this motel quite a few times over the last year and enjoyed the relaxed country setting. The rooms are spacious even though modest but have the unique feature of sliders to a terrace that take in a view of a sprawling lawn bedazzled by canoes and chairs of multi colors and the Delaware River beyond. In rooms 1-4 the table is positioned to look right out the sliders and has a great heating/cooling unit. Prices are still reasonable especially during the week and evoke the old time Delaware County which was budget friendly. Noise from adjoining rooms can be heard through the walls, whether a TV or conversation and can be disruptive.

This spot is so relaxing and beautiful. Its rooms are basic but clean and each has a little deck where you can sit and take in the views of a beautiful mountain and the eastern branch of the Delaware River. Prices are more than reasonable .

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was spacious and clean. A good supply of pillows and blankets. Spent a lot of time on the back porch watching the bald eagles, birds, bunnies, butterflies, even a doe and fawn at twilight coming for a drink at the river. Really appreciated the use of the kayaks. It was a leisurely paddle to the covered bridge and back. We got the room that allowed our dog. She enjoyed the field in the back for sniffing and walking. Definitely will be back here when the mountains call me again.

Located in the quiet foothills of upstate New York, this motel offers a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Bring your mountain bikes and be prepared for the challenge, launch a kayak in the Delaware River just minutes away, or simply rent a canoe right there at the hotel and travel the small brook beneath the covered bridge. Price versus value you won't find a more affordable retreat for a weekend getaway.

My wife and I stayed here for one night this week while checking out the Catskills foliage. Before staying here, several people we talked to to in town highly recommended it and we were lucky enough to get a room the same night. We had the upstairs apartment which was fabulous. Two bedrooms ,full kitchen, large living room and large Living room. Much more than we needed, but was a high point of our trip. Scenery was awesome and right on the river. Owner also has a sporting goods store across the road for fishing, hunting and canoeing. Two minute drive to town and I toke some of my best photos of our trip there. Check out the covered bridge in town too. Squeaky clean and owner was very helpful. Highly recommended. We plan to go back and stay longer this fall.
