Downes Motel

A real find in an unexpected location. Very clean. Wall to wall carpeting. Delightful '50s bathroom tile work. Very comfortable beds. Downside is lack of coffee amenities and nearby places to eat. Very friendly helpful manager. Right next to turnpike entrance.

Stayed one night in #3. Room was clean, proprietor was polite and responsive to our requests. WiFi is very limited in range, but functional. Price was very competitive. Very convenient to I76 (PA turnpike) and US-522. The 1960s decor is a bit dated, but fairly well maintained.

My family and I stayed at the Downes Motel while visiting with family in Hustontown, PA. This is a long time family owned business and the owners take pride. It is a small older country hotel. There are no amenities, but it is VERY clean. I searched the room and could not even find a cobweb. The price was great. There was no extra charge for my small dog. The location next to the Turnpike was great - for the long trip back to Jersey. I would definitely stay here again during our next visit.
