Doran Bay Resort

We really enjoyed our stay this past weekend. The older kids loved the hammocks and our youngest seemed very comfortable. We will definitely be returning.

First I have to say that the owners here are very nice. We walked into out cottage and it was very clean, we were very impressed. We were in cottage #8 with 2 bedrooms. Beds were reasonably comfortable although one of the beds did make quite a bit of noise when you would move around on it. We had a covered porch which was awesome when it was raining. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cutlery, along with a BBQ for each cottage. There is a gazebo on the property with a foosball table that the kids enjoyed. There is a nice pool but I can't review that because 1, the weather was bad for our first 2 days and 2, there were some drunk guests that basically took the pool over when the weather was nice. We loved our stay!! We were in cottage 7 which was across from the pool. We loved the cottage, it was cute and cozy. The queen bed was AMAZING!! As soon as you got into bed it’s like you melt into the mattress. We were worried we would get a hard mattress as we both have bad backs, but was very surprised and happy. I even asked what mattress it was as we loved it so much. The only downfall was that we didn’t get much of a view of the river when we were on the porch, so we may try for cottage 8 next time. So many things to do whether it’s having a campfire (bring lots of bug spray and citronella candles), swimming in the pool or the river, snorkeling which we saw so many fish and huge bass, walking around the property, watching the beavers. Our family loved our stay and will definitely be back in the future. The staff was warm and welcoming and made every effort to make us feel comfortable. Our cottage was adorable and perfect for our family of 4. The kitchen had everything you could possibly want and the beds were very comfortable. Our children loved the swimming pool and the Iroquois beach was only a short drive away. There was lots of space to run around on the lawns and a playground and toy cars to play on. The view of the St Lawrence was spectacular and made for a gorgeous evening sitting on the dock, at the campfire or enjoying the sunset from our porch. We also enjoyed our day trip to Upper Canada Village which is only a short drive as well. I highly recommend this beautiful spot!

We were very pleased with the resort, everything was accommodating. We were concerned about our specific needs (wheelchair accessibility) but the owners upgraded our cabin and made it easier for us. Although our stay was short we enjoyed our getaway and will definitely go again next Spring. We highly recommend this resort to anyone because of all the conveniences nearby as well as the friendly welcoming by the staff and owners. Thank you.
