Devils Lake Inn

My husband and I stayed at the Devil's Inn Lake Too last night. We had just finished the NASCAR Racing Experience over at Michigan International Speedway. Only about a 20 minute drive. Loved this place. Super clean and new inside. The outside is a lovely sky blue stone. I know it sounds funny but it really looks cute. Just across the street and down a lot is Two Lakes Tavern. Another awesome place. If you stay at this Inn you'll see a menu in the kitchen for the tavern. The Inn has beautiful hardwood floors that look new. Everything is spotless. Nice decor. Beach theme. Simple and tasteful. The deep front porch just up off the road level is where we spent most of the evening after we were done at the tavern. It's the kind of front porch I think everyone wants. This is a charming Inn that had been recently remodeled into 3 different suites. We stayed in the Celebrity suite, which had a living area with a separate bedroom and a nice private deck. This is in the local village area, with places to eat and shop. The only complaint is that we could hear the person in the suite next to us moving around in the middle of the night.

Great little place, but don't make a reservation VRBO. This host does not honor their reservation, and if you book directly with them it's twice as much. I was charged twice for the same reservation, and it is a pain trying to get a refund. I think it is unfair to use VRBO's platfrom to promote your lodging, and then re-direct prospective guests to their own website. I have mixed feelings about ever making a reservation with the Devil's Lake Inn again.

I spent five nights in the automobile-themed suite, which was spacious and clean with a full kitchen, living room area and separate bedroom. I appreciated the smart TV, the fun decor, and being able to sit outside facing the park next door. The Inn is in a great location, very close to restaurants and shops. This is not like a traditional B&B in that there is no staff on site, so it is more like renting an independent rental unit.

Lived in Michigan almost 40 years and had no idea such a cool little town existed. I bet non covid it would be really amazing. We stayed in the celebrity suite. The deck was great even in December for the views. Be great to see it in summer. The deck is probably the same size as the entire suite. The suite is cozy but definitely not as big as you think because you have two floors. It's decorations are cool and border on cheesy but we will call them fun. I couldn't figure out why in their pictures they didn't show the whole shower but it was tiny. They have great personal touches like having their own playlist on the Alexa for the room, coffee and snacks, fan, extra blankets. Only had enough dishes for couples. I would only recommend a couple or single stay. Complaint but won't knock them d
