Dekalb County Public Lake

I've been here twice. My wife and I was looking for a nice quiet place to go fishing and her brother told us about this place. We use worms and caught some sunfish. We had someone give us a couple of nice size catfish the first time we we're there. They have trash cans around some of the areas and they want you to pick up your own trash, which is no problem.

I don't have any idea who wrote these reviews, must have been the person in charge of the lake. You never know when the lake might be open. You go on Tuesday and oops they are closed and will reopen on Monday. That is if there is a sign. Also the camp sites, well kept, that is an absolute falsehood. The staff, well to put it nicely, people have walked out because of the way they were treated. That is if they got to see anyone. Use to be a good place to take your kids fishing on the week ends and after work, well those days have passed. If you can figure out what official in the state to talk to that might care please write me a review because no one listens. I have lived here sense before this lake was opened. I love fishing at Dekalb Public Lake. I have been fishing here for about 50 years. I have caught some beautiful fish in this lake.

Our go to spot for a nice, quite get-a-way!!! I love coming here, Steve and his wife are so nice, the scenery is beautiful, and the fishing is great.

We absolutely love this place. Our favorite place to camp as well as fish. Mr. Simmons and his wife are always so friendly.
