De Smet Super Deluxe Inn & Suites

Had a great stay. Bed was good. Room was clean. They allowed our dogs in the garage at no cost. Would gladly stay again. Hot tube was hot and pool was also warm. Nice relaxing way to end the evening after hunting. Breakfast was what you would expect at any hotel. The people complaining about it all must not have had the experience we did.

Poop on the toilet seat, nasty stained carpet, something, maybe coffee, spilled down the wall by the bed, dim lighting. There's no way I'd eat their breakfast. We had booked third party and it was late so instead of leaving we stayed for the night. I had cleaning disinfecting wipes so we cleaned everything we need to touch. We brought our own linens and pillows in from our van and didn't walk around without our shoes. The ice machine looked like it had black mold. Random strings of Xmas lights hung here and there no rhyme or reason. Stayed here with my family and never will again. Room was damp and wet with mold/mildew. All of our clothes were wet from laying on the couch. The owners did not supply crib as promised. The hide-a-beds were broken. Water was tepid at best. Couldn't open the windows because of the beetle infestation. Mosquitos all over in the hotel room. Bathroom smelled like methane gas. Breakfast was at least 3 days old. Eggs were hard rubber. Bread was so dry it crumbled in your hand. This was the only available space in De Smet, otherwise we would never have made it two nights. When we complained about the mold, the worker said "We can't do anything about that. Call the manager." Called the manager at least 4x before getting him to answer. Armpit hotel. Insane priced room for what you get. Needs to be run by owners who understand and relate to the hunting culture. They ran out of most breakfast items by 7:30am (breakfast goes from 6-9am) Hot tub was grimy, beds uncomfortable. Heard there was bed bugs in a room near mine the day before my arrival. One redeeming quality is they had a cleaning room for game, although it was pretty basic and lacked adequate table space for multiple people to work.

I didn't stay here overnight so I don't know how the rooms are, but went with a friend to use the pool & hot tub for a fee. There was something growing (algae?) on the floor & walls of both pool & hot tub. The desk worker kept trying to say the paint was worn off but that's not what it was. Someone could get sick from swimming in that.
