DD Gamble Guest Lodge & Ranch

My friend and I stayed with Tom and Alicia for a few days during Christmas time. Tom and Alicia absolutely made us felt at home. We had a Christmas dinner together with their family and Tom even taught me a few cooking tricks. The ranch has both big horses for riding and miniature horses. On a good weather day, you can do some horseback riding. There are a few trails close to the ranch. If you are looking for a place far away from civilization, I definitely recommend to stay with Tom and Alicia.

We went there with our niece and great niece who is crazy about riding and she got all the riding she could dream of, galloping in the wilderness and looking for steers and bull. I got a little riding myself and I am not an experience rider but they have horses for all levels and I felt comfortable with the one I got. The place is great for relaxing and enjoying the open valley and mountain around. Tom and Alicia are great host providing excellent meals and attending to all your desire to make sure that you have a memorable stay. I would gladly go back and probably will.

Such a fun experience and incredible scenery! We visited the DD Gamble Guest Lodge & Ranch in July arriving late afternoon and pleased it was not difficult to find. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking with recent rains everything was blooming. We have a special love for animals and came to this location to learn about miniature horses and take a relaxing vacation. I was especially pleased my princess chihuahua was not only allowed but "welcomed" in their home. Tom & Alicia are friendly, knowledgable and very accommodating. Their knowledge about the history of the area including the mountains and Mexico kept us in awe, we were unfamiliar that so much history took place. Tom and Alicia are so welcoming and gracious! They treat you just like family. We were treated to yummy meals and warm conversations. The lodge is comfortable while maintaining a rustic feel. There's Opportunity for horseback riding, and they have lots of miniature horses! We absolutely loved them. They are so friendly and sweet. The views are also beautiful! There are lots of areas for hiking and exploring even for novices like us. This is the perfect place to get away and feel in touch with nature for a couple days. I would definitely visit here again and highly recommend the DD Gamble.

I am a field Producer for a TV production company and we were lucky enough to be put in touch with Tom and Alicia to scout locations for our TV series. We REALLY lucked out. They are both incredibly kind, resourceful and knowledgable hosts. They tolerated our endless requests for different types of locations, animals, people and ultimately hosted us for a pretty epic shoot. We were able to shoot camping scenes, riding scenes, treasure hunting scenes in mine shafts, all in areas that looked as though they were in the middle of nowhere, but were actually 5 minutes from food and shelter. They put us in touch with people to source stunt tarantulas and rappelling crews and even organized a Cattle stampede for cameras - really went beyond the call of duty.
