Days Inn by Wyndham Lexington NE

Staff poor service, check in process is so bad since the staff or owner want us to pay directly to them not book from the Wyndham website. They yelled and talked very impolitely. I have service dog and they want to see my health certificate. I told them I can show service dog certificate but not my health certificate. I contact Wyndham corporate, they said it’s solely the franchisor of the Days Inn trademarks and service marks to independently owned and operated.||I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Front desk staff were nice but upon arriving at our room we couldn't get key card to work. Back downstairs and she re swiped it, back upstairs. No, back downstairs and back up again, no. Ok back down and back up and still no - poor front lady had to come up the stairs and ultimately gave us a different room. Bed, pillows, bathroom were all clean so no complaints there. But it went downhill after that. The carpet is filthy! Black filthy and hasn't been cleaned in a very long time - don't walk around barefoot! Coffee maker was so dirty I could draw in the grunge on the top and then discovered that the previous coffee sachet was still in there. The base was inexcusably filthy. But the final insult was found later when a sock(we think it was a sock) was seen lurking between the bedside table

Hotel was less than expected for a Days Inn. Bathroom tub needed a repair. Bathroom plaster needed repair. No grill on bath fan. Trip.com description indicated there was an indoor pool. Did not exist. Laundry was in the lobby. Bedding was clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast was better than I expected.

I gave them one star for the service we got from the clerk. He was the only bright spot in this potential stay. He helped us to get reimbursed and was very understanding of why we wanted to cancel our reservation, although we saw no live evidence of bedbugs, I could not Make myself stay.

Do not stop. It gives flophouses a bad name. Dirty and rundown. Booked on hotels.com and the guy at the desk seemed bent out of shape by this. Couldn’t give us a receipt for our stay because we booked on an app. Had to give a credit card for incidentals and can’t figure out what incidentals there were to purchase. I think Cousin Eddie would give this place 1 star. Ugh.
