Dan River Campground was amazing. It is so beautiful. The people that own and work there are awesome friendly. The grounds are magnificent. They even cut and blow the leaves off their trails. One night they had a wonderful band outside.
I've been at the Dan River Campground for many months while looking to relocate to this beautiful area. The campground is well kept and operated by friendly and helpful owners and staff. It's been great to have the family over for cook-outs while enjoying fishing, trails, swimming and the playground. Also nice having clean restrooms/bathhouse with washer and dryer service. DRCG is such a welcomed peaceful setting.
It's a shame the new owners have to deal with the negative ratings that was posted here before they took over. Nice peaceful campground. Well maintained as others have commented. They have good shade on several sites. The bathhouse was always clean when I used them over the entire stay. Their shuttle service fills up quick so make preparations as soon as you can. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked again. **Two year update, the campground is still well maintained. Great place to camp.
Such a beautiful, well maintained campground. The owners were super helpful and accommodating. The camp host made sure the grounds were immaculate. Very clean bath houses, clean laundry facilities, nice sparkling pool, quiet walking trail. I will definitely be back!

The grounds are immaculate and the landscape is beautiful. Ponds and trails and plenty of trees and shade. The listing does not do the park justice. And the owner Nick is a good man and fair. He has rules for a reason and they are not at all difficult to abide by. Sites are immaculate and 39 was the best for us as it was shaded and we had no neighbors. We looked out into the forest. Recent flooding prevented us from using the river. The owner quit providing his kayak and canoe rentals due to the recent flooding as there was no way to get down to or up from the river. Shower rooms were also immac
