Dakota Pheasant Guide

Dennis was fantastic through the entire process. He was very helpful in deciding which location and hunt would be best for us I have a 3 year old dog that I was bringing to hunt wild pheasants for the first time (I hunt wild woodcock and pen raised pheasants locally) We decided on a self guided hunt at the Leola location and in two days saw roughly 100 pheasants. We were able to kill our fair share as well. Lynette and Jerome our local hosts were fantastic as well. We are already planning our next trip with Dennis.

We had a great time hunting with Brandon and his dogs for a few days. They found us lots of birds to shoot at, even though it was late in the season. After the hunt was over the lodge was a great place to hang out. Dakota Pheasant Guide is the only place I would go to hunt in South Dakota.

The experience was exactly as advertised. The properties for self guided hunts were well maintained in regards to habitat and limited hunting pressure. It was an amazing experience. Abundant flushes at every spot. I will definitely return! My young dogs received constant exposure to birds and scent which was my goal of this trip. I hunted alone with my dogs which is tough to be successful on December roosters. Limited daily in less than 3 hours. The only negative was having vehicle trouble on the trip there. But Dennis accommodated my late arrival without any fuss. 100% will be back.

Brandon and his dogs put us on tons of birds all weekend, giving us an opportunity to hit our limit each day. The spacious lodge had everything a hunter needs, and more, including comfortable beds and an awesome place to hangout after a long day of hunting. The towns bar right down the street called Flinner’s was a good time also with plenty of great food options.

We had a fantastic hunt with Dennis and Ryan over 2 days. Plenty of opportunities for everyone and a great lodge to stay at. We will certainly be back again.
