Croton Point Park Campground

We had a truly wonderful stay here. My son came to visit from Brooklyn and the convenient Metro North stop makes it easy to come up from the city. The sunsets and Fall views were spectacular.

Stayed here in my travel trailer for a week while visiting New York City. Incredibly beautiful park with so many different things to do. A big thank you to the gentleman at the front desk who helped me find a travel trailer site when I inadvertently arrived a day early thinking I had reserved that day. Great spot to hop on the train to NYC City.

Sitting on a peninsula, it has water on three side but minimal views from the campground. That does not matter. This charming park has so much to offer. A short walk to the river side opens up extraordinary view. A beach, ball park, walking trails and nature center. Nestled next to a capped off and since retired landfill. The landfill is now a gorgeous bird sanctuary with miles of walking trails. The MTA is a mile and a half away for your hour long train ride to the city. The campground itself is tight but easily accessible. Some sites are too short for longer rigs, so make sure you detail your rig length with the office when booking. We stayed in site 17 with was perfect. Full hook up with clean water and 50 amp service. Some sewer taps are behind the site, so have an extra section of sew

We had a Great stay here. The park is quite nice- the tent area is seperated from the RV area & cabins by about 600 yards. The fire pits are provided, and its Very Pleasant. Downside: kudzu is killing this park. The vines are choking every other plant to death, and soon, this will be a 1 foot tall kudzu patch unless intervention is done. There is beach swimming, and nice Clean showers too. But please NY- you need to address the kudzu soon

Great place to get a train into NYC. 1.5 miles to train station, we walked easily. Right into grand central (hint take the express, it’s much shorter. )The campground is quite nice. 4 stars as the bathrooms were not open near the RV and the whole place could use some upgrading. Nice trails to walk on as well. We are a small RV so would have preferred the tent area as the sites were more pleasant.
