I thought the large pine forest and the sandy pathway through the area was a pretty interesting point on the trail. Didn't visit the rangers office, but I know some people stop there for lunch. Might be a toilet there if needed.
Camped here two nights while hiking the PCT. Plenty of room and a pit toilet.
