Courtyard by Marriott Sarasota at University Town Center

We had blocked several rooms at the Courtyard Sarasota UTC, for our daughter’s wedding. The front desk staff assisted us in distributing Welcome Bags to our guests as they arrived and we also had a morning after breakfast, the Sunday after the wedding, for our family and friends in the meeting room of the hotel. Everything was perfect and Monique, Rashay and all of the staff were attentive, kind and respectful. It could not have gone any better. I would highly recommend this hotel for any special event or just as a great place to stay when you’re in the area. Thank you so much for a seamless weekend!!!

Dog complaint ||Is this place a hotel or a kennel? People are walking dogs up and down the hallways as if they are comparable to children ie: walk outside and somebody is standing over a dog either picking up dog poo or the dog is squatting with his tail turned up, passing gas and feces? We came for a vacation and a holiday, not to watch people swoon over dogs barking, yipping while dog owners create dissonance in a place of relaxation for people - please get a pet sitter so that people who want to enjoy holidays with other people can do so! There is a breakfast bar there where food is sitting out and we do not want to see you handling dogs or bags full of dog poo!

Positive: Hotel was close proximity to all shops and all we had planned to do. Negative: The elevator door closed on my mother in law causing her severe pain and a potential surgery in her pelvic area, arm, and leg. We were given a free Starbucks drink for her injury, at minimum I would have expected a refund on room charge.

Big safety concerns. There was a light and electrical chord floating in the hot tub, that my son pointed out to us while we were in it. Also the elevator was shaking every time we would use it for the first two days we were here, then the third day and it started bouncing up and down as we were exiting it to our floor. Very scary. Lawsuits just waiting to happen. Did not feel safe staying here.

Super clean, excellent location, fantastic customer service. We are Ambassador level with Marriott, so we stay in a lot of different hotels. This one is a gem and very well managed with the most helpful, friendly staff. Our stay was great in every way!
